Why Kesses is In Safe Hands Under CPA Julius Rutto

Kesses Member of Parliament elect CPA Julius Rutto has an elaborate plan in a bid to bring about positive transformation in one of the constituencies in Uasin Gishu County.

On Friday CPA Rutto underwent an induction exercise at the Parliament which is his office for the next five years.

“It’s good that I have attended the 13th Parliament orientation and presentation of my credentials as I kickstarted the journey of representation, legislation and Oversight. Thank you the great people of Kesses,” the legislator said.

Mr Rutto has an elaborate plan for Kesses in a bid to leave a rich legacy and position Kesses as a Constituency to benchmark with. Armed with an experience in finance and accounting, Mr Rutto believes he has what it takes to chair the Budget and Appropriations Committee in the 13^th Parliament.

“Going by the fact that our party (United Democratic Alliance UDA) has a majority in parliament, I hope that I will be considered for the prime committee chairmanship. I shall uphold the virtues of transparency and accountability in executing my duties as the Chair of the Committee.”

“My approach is going to be very different from that of my predecessor who had reduced my constituents to beggars by nurturing a culture of tokenism and handouts. Mine is a pragmatic approach to address the everyday challenges that my people face. In particular I will prioritize on education to make sure all learners access equal and quality education.

As per the other real problems, I will formulate a strategy in consultation with other stakeholders to see to it that we come up with enablers that spur economic growth. One of the key pillars of this is infrastructure.

Kesses being an agricultural rich area I will see to it that the agroeconomic activities are well taken care of . Especially for the potato sector I will see to it that farmers are equipped with skills, inputs and above all, capital which is a great enabler of economic transformation.

Mr Rutto also has a big plan for the youths in terms of nurturing and building on their specific skills and preparing them for the job market through capacity building. After this the legislator says he will link them to financial institutions for ease of access to capital.

“we shall build on our talents whereby I will direct the youths to talent centres where they can exploit their God given potential.”

Mr Rutto who has a wealth of experience in public finance management says he will work to ensure the highest degrees of transparency as far as matters of public coffers are concerned.
