Westlands law maker Tim Wanyonyi has opened a 600 bed capacity dormitory at Parklands Arya Girls School.

It was built at a cost of KES 40 million and funded by CDF, parents association as well as the Ministry of Education school infrastructure funds to enhance 100 percent transition.

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi who is the patron of Westlands NG-CDF opened the building.The building will house 600 of the 879 students at the school. Two more floors will be constructed to expand its capacity to 1,000 students.

Wanyonyi expressed optimism on the strong impact of students housed in good dormitories to better classroom performance.

“Our pride is to make sure that our children are housed and are also learning in an enabling environment. This will ensure they are safe and importantly maximize on their time in school,” he said.

“Your gracious gift has seen us going a long way in putting up the third floor of this dormitory. We pray that with your intervention we will add two more floors. We thank you also for your help building the dining hall. We also have the perimeter walls because of your gracious office. The children too can stay in class and read because of your bursary support. You have been a good friend of this school. We thank you for everything ,” Dr Rose Opondo, the Parklands Arya Girls BOM Chairperson said.

On her part, Ms Rhodah Ogaro, the Parklands Arya Girls Principal complimented the huge milestone on the key intervention by the legislator. Specifically, she mentioned Mr Wanyonyi’s zeal to improve the school.
