2020 KCSE exams results to be release by 10th of May, Magoha

Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha on Wednesday said that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results will be released by 10th of May.
Speaking to students of Nairobi School upon their completion of the last paper, Magoha said that the results of the 752,891 candidates who sat for the exams will be released as soon a spossible and rated the success of the whole exercise of administering the papers as well as monitoring at 99.9 per cent,
The CS said that attempts to expose papers before scheduled time in some centres were dealt with instantly without delay, bringing cases of irregularities close to zero, a thing he said he was proud of.
“We experienced a number of cases where officials attempted to open the papers with the intention of exposing them to candidates before the actual examinations started. We thwarted these efforts in few centres countrywide, some of which I released to you during my weekly briefs,” said Magoha.
Magoha added that for flouting examinations administration laws, which so far are treated as allegations, a total of 27 officials were demoted as centre administrators, supervisors, or invigilators.
For the first time in the history of the country and KCSE, students sat their exams on March/April away from the previous years when the exams were sat on October/November.
This was att4ributed to the disruption of the academic calendar due to Covid-19 pandemic that hit the country hard leading to closure of schools fopr a period of 8 months.
