Mr President added, “SimpliFine is working with farmers in Kenya to keep our food local. We believe that starting fresh from the farm makes for good food on your table.”

On value addition and creation of employment he said, “We’re growing more than food. We’re growing the economy. By processing raw ingredients locally in modern facilities, we put money in the hands of farmers and fresh, quality food on your table without the costs of global shipping and import fees. SimpliFine already employs 100 people in Naivasha and we are expanding our network of farmers to grow and sell more.”

Mr President added that diversification is also key. He said

“SimpliFine started with french fries. Now, we are introducing quality meat products and ready-made meals, as well as baked goods, and even more produce. Working together with farmers and state-of-the-art temperature-controlled distribution through BigCold Storage & Logistics, we plan to grow to give our customers more of what they love.”

President Steve Carlyon concluded by calling upon the National Government to work towards improvement of agriculture in a bid to make it easy for farmers to get value for their money.

He also underscored the importance of irrigation as opposed to rain fed agriculture in order to have sustainable supply of the highly sought after staple food
