The issue of affordable housing has received a boost with private sector players pledging to partner with the Government to make it a reality.

Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki, the Chief Executive Officer of Together as One Investment which is the parent company of Comfort Homes, has alluded that he is planning to inject more than 1,000 units in Nairobi’s neighbourhood of Syokimau.

Speaking when he took his staff for a site visit, he said

“These units will be two and three bedroom and we are targeting the low and middle income earners so that we can enable them become home owners.

Here in Mavoko is very prime because it’s where we shall have Machakos County Hub and also a UN habitat base. This property touches tarmac and we have met clients tastefully crafted needs including a garage, restaurant and mall.”

Dr. Kariuki urged the government to ease the taxation of building materials and simplify the process of subdivision in order to hasten the process of issuing individual titles.
