Committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining Interrogates FY 2022-23 Supplimemtar Estimates

The National Assembly departmental committee on Environment, Forestry and Mining, has today been briefed by the Parliamentary Budget Office on supplementary estimates for FY 2022/23, during the first day of their three-day retreat, the Committee scrutinized figures presented for various departments in the ministry.

The estimates which were tabled in the National Assembly on 31st January this year aims at providing additional funding for new priorities and unexpected events.

Further, the exercise also seeks to provide reallocations that have been approved and adjust the budget to match the updated fiscal framework and the recent government restructuring.

Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries from State Departments of Environment, Forestry and Mining are expected to appear before the committee tomorrow to answer on how the national rationalization will affect operations in their various agencies.
