Dedan Kimathi Foundation is one of the key stakeholders that is fully in support of the Government’s effort to plant 15 Billion trees in a bid to counter the adverse effects of climate change.

In the official Facebook page of the Foundation, the Chief Executive Officer Evelyn Kimathi noted:

“Our Environment Conservation team has converged it’s efforts towards increasing tree seedlings production by volunteering in KFS nurseries.

Today, the team of 35 volunteers is assisting with potting, weeding and watering tree seedlings at Muringato Forest Station and Central Highlands Conservancy nurseries both within Muringato Forest premises.

Our Environment Conservation Team 1 that will be camping in Nyeri for 3 weeks enters Day 2 at Muringato Forest Station Central Highlands Nursery.

The team is simultaneously carrying out potting, spot weeding, pricking in and watering the seedlings after weeding. This is in support of KFS seedlings production in readiness for the next planting season.”
