Deputy President William Ruto has been linked to woes that have rocked Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress in the recent past.

The latest signal that the party is experiencing a deep disharmony is the resignation of long serving party Secretary General Barrack Muluka on Tuesday last week. Mr Muluka said he had decided to quit his position because he felt he could not add more value to the party and that he wanted to decongest the space around party leader Mudavadi.

“I doubt I could add more value to what I have done so far. Moreover, it is now fitting that the space around you should be de-congested. This will allow you to make critical decisions on the population and leadership under the new constitution.” Mr Muluka said in his resignation letter.
