Governor Lenku Eyeing to Increase Kajiado Revenue to Sh2 billion

Governor Joseph Ole Lenku took oath of the office at a swearing in ceremony held in Kajiado county.

The Governor becomes the first county boss in Kajiado to retain his seat that he held from 2017 to 2022.

In his pledge for the second term Ole Lenku noted that after successful streamlining of the land sector in the region this term he will focus on enabling the residents to reap from their title deeds and enhance education services in the county.

” We are ready to write the next chapter in Kajiado County’s history. We commit to enable residents of Kajiado to play their part as active citizens in building communities and holding public offices accountable. If you can’t work you should resign,” said Ole Lenku.

The Governor pledged to increase scholarships to over Sh150 million from the current Sh 50 Million

“We found bursary at sh40 million we raised to 150 million we want to raise it to sh300 million” said Ole Lenku.

He added that when he took over Kajiado the on source revenue was around Sh400 million and managed to grow it to sh1.2 billion and there is a possibility it can reach 2 billion

Lenku pointed out that he will automate the revenue collection systems, build 6 bridges and ensure that the county becomes a hub for investors

He called on the communities to leave harmoniously.
