Kangemi slum dwellers plead with politicians to emulate Ananda Marga mission

Slum dwellers of Kangemi and the surrounding areas have pleaded with politicians, local and Administration leaders to emulate the good humanitarian work offered by Ananda Marga mission. Ananda Marga mission based at Nairobi’s Mountain View Estate has been a hub of actives almost everyday for the last 30 years.


The mission has continued to offer free shelter, food stuffs, created jobs to volunters, and slum dwellers . The mission which has a giant hospital,primary and secondary school has transformed and re-integrated the slum dwellers into the society.


The Chairman of the Ananda Marga mission Dinesh Marga has successfully rehabilitated, transformed and re-integrated the slum dwellers of Kibagare, Kangemi slums, Kinoo and the surrounding areas into the society.

The Chairman of the Ananda Marga mission Dinesh Marga with Orange attire distributes over 1000 jeans to starving dwellers of Kangemi Estate and the surrounding area. Over 2000 slum dwellers converge every Sunday at the mission to receive food stuffs.


“We work 24 hours in a day, he added, We feel happy serving humanity. We ave done this for more than 30 years by serving the slum dwellers of Kibagare, Kangemi, Kinoo and the surrounding slum areas. God is our father, we are his children”


“We estimate 1 or 2 percent of people are suffering from. Job cuts following the Covid- 19 pandemic. We are happy with the support we receive from our donor friends and people are happy. It is God who does all this work” he noted.
Dinesh thanked his donors, volunteers and the local residents and administration for making the mission alive and vibrant.


Last Sunday, over 2000 families received free food stuffs that included maize floor, milk, bananas, cabbages and clothes that included 1000 jeans worth Ksh. 400,000.


Some of the donors include Elite tools Ltd, Victoria Furniture Ltd, Contract Carpenting, and Bhachu wood products.
Other partners who have helped in the food distribution programme include Mr Iryan, Praful Bhai, Summer Africa Ltd, Ardit Shah, Dhamu Engineers, Fahreen, Tasne Err and Bhadwaj Welfare Trust among others.
