The incoming Administration of Kenya Kwanza led by Dr. William Samoei Ruto has pledged to include persons with disabilities once it takes over power on 9th August.

Reinforcing the above sentiments is the incoming Senator of Nairobi on United Democratic Movement (UDA) Bishop Margaret Wanjiru. She said:

“People living with disabilities face a lot of challenges which range from stigma, rejection, denial of economic opportunities, lack of mobility devices and access to funds among many others. During the signing of a charter with people living with disabilities at the Ngong’ Racecourse, Nairobi County, we agreed that as we form the next Government, we must have a framework that will ensure PWDs concerns are fully addressed and facilitated.”

Bishop Wanjiru has made clear her plan of changing how things are done through empowerment of the small and medium enterprises. The highly reputable Bishop plans to construct more markets especially storey ones to accommodate all business people within Nairobi.

“We are determined to ensure that we uplift the lives of our small-scale traders in Nairobi though the Bottom-Up Economy. We must continue to dialogue with each other so that we provide long-lasting solutions,” Bishop Wanjiru said.
