Kiambu DG Designate Calls For Inclusion of Women in Leadership

KIAMBU Deputy Governor Designate June Waweru has called upon women to make an informed decision come 9th of August when the country goes to the polls.

June, a leader of integrity in several capacities is seeking to deputise Governor James Nyoro who is seeking Kiambu Gubernatorial seat after successfully delivering several development projects in a bid to empower the people of Kiambu.

Speaking while addressing the women of Kiambu in Mount Kenya University Thika, June urged the women leaders to ensure they elect Jubilee leaders from Member of County Assembly (MCA), Member of Parliament (MP), Woman Representative, Senator and Governor.

On the same breath, June urged them to support Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Amolo Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua terming them as leaders of integrity.

She also talked about Jiinue Fund that seeks to empower small and medium enterprises in Kiambu. People have already started benefiting from this fund by accessing loans at half the interest rate, with no collateral, since the Kiambu County Government is the Guarantor.

June called upon the electorate to elect leaders of integrity in the forthcoming general elections and shun leaders who are just propagating empty rhetoric and propaganda.

In observance of the International Widow’s day that was marked today, June called upon the widows to go for the Jiinue Fund and utilise it to start income generating activities that will ensure that they are self reliant.
