Kiambu DG Joyce Ngugi Endorses Martha Karua’s Running mate Ticket

Kiambu Deputy Governor Dr. Joyce Ngugi has reaffirmed her support for Martha Karua who was today named the running mate to Azimio be Presidential Flag bearer the Rt Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga.

Mrs Ngugi recounted this as a big win.

“If there’s one woman who has been our role model whom we look upto is none other than the honourable Martha Karua. Firm, sharp, focused, no nonsense, are some of her attributes. We aren’t supporting her just because she is a woman but it’s because of her track record. She has achieved so much for this country and fought for the second liberation which gave birth to the new constitution.”

Mrs Ngugi dismissed the other faction as weak, crooked and has no good intention for our country.

“This dynamic duo will send home the man from Sugoi as early as 6 a.m.”

Some of her reasons for supporting Martha are that she has defied patriarchy, defied the odds and that is the reason why women can assert themselves for space in leadership. She proved it was possible, when she was elected to parliament Four times straight to represent Gichugu Constituency.

Ms Karua is also the Defacto voice of democracy, and champion for integrity and good governance: some of us only had the courage to do the right thing, and to call wrong and right because she charted the path and showed us it is possible.

One of the soundest voices in the opposition : Never needing to ride a wave. Never needing to fit in. Comfortable with standing out and standing alone as long as she stands on her conviction and more important, for what is right.

Some people have called her stubborn and uncompromising. I call her pragmatic and principled. She has given us young people, a leader that we can point at as close to ideal.

She gave Guidance in the BBI process… demystified the rule of law and the sanctity of it. Yet another moment where she choose the road less traveled, for the sake of the future of this country.

Now, incoming Deputy President is who she is to us, and where she belongs. Shouting from the roof tops; we are happy to have Martha Wangari Karua in the Office of Deputy President.
