Logistics Firm Calls for Free Flow of Goods From the Port

Players in the logistics sector have said that the move by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to transfer port operations from Mombasa led to a reduction in accidents and faster clearing.

The Director General of Youngline Clearing and Forwarding Mr John Maina spoke on the move to reverting port operations from Naivasha back to Mombasa.

“The fact that the port operations had been moved from Mombasa to Naivasha had it’s pros. Especially reduction of accidents and also making it much easier for traders in the hinterland to clear their goods with ease,” said Maina

In a news Interview with The Times Digital the director shared with us his thoughts and this is what’s to say:

“What we would like to see is a free trade to facilitate free flow of goods from the port. This will facilitate trade and ensure everything moves on smoothly,” he observed .
