Maendeleo ya Wanawake Back Raila -Karua Ticket

Women leaders from across the country have unanimously thrown their weight behind the candidature of Martha Karua as Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila’s running mate.

One of these women is Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Chairperson Rahab Muiu.

“I’m very happy for Martha and we have seen the fruit of our hardwork. Martha has been a friend since my childhood since we went to the same school, Kabare in Kirinyaga as young girls.

She deserves it because first of her merit, tough stance against corruption, track record and she even fought for the New Constitution whose fruits we enjoy to date.”

Honourable Martha Karua who is also the Narc Kenya leader was named today at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.

Reacting to Martha’s naming, Mrs Rahab added, “Martha is a baby of Maendeleo and we are proud of her. She has indeed done us, as women proud. We thank God.”

Rahab is also very happy for Martha since she will proceed the women agenda in her new dispensation.

“We have unique problems as a nation which we are confident that Martha will address such issues with a feminine touch.” Mrs Muiu who couldn’t hide her joy said.

She called upon all the other women countrywide to rally behind Martha and make sure she gets the top seat.

Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) was registered in 1952.

It is a national membership Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to unify, nurture and empower women socially, economically and politically to be able to deal with the unique challenges that face them in society.

The organisation has seen exponential growth under the wise and able stewardship of the selfless Chairperson Mrs Rahab Muiu.
