More exhibitors expected at this year’s Mombasa international show

Agricultural Society of Kenya [ASK] Coast branch chairperson Anisa Abdallah has sent a passionate appeal to the region’s elected leaders to take advantage of this year’s Mombasa international show to learn about innovations being showcased during the five day event.

She confirmed the show opens its doors on November 2 to 6 and urged them to ensure they send more residents from the region to learn from what will be showcased.

“The ASK has organized small scale business operators in the agricultural sector to learn new ways to improve their skill,” she pointed out.

Anisa reiterated its high time for famers to take advantage of the forthcoming show to showcase their farm produce.

She was speaking during this year’s ASK Mombasa show harvest festival thanksgiving service held at the Mombasa Memorial Cathedral in Mombasa county.

The ASK Coast branch chairperson said they expect President William Ruto to preside over the official opening as has been the tradition with the Heads of State over the years.

Anisa urged youths to attend the five day event which goes in tandem with technology and innovation.

She told journalists the age bracket should keep in mind the era of white collar jobs is no more in this new era of technology.

“Let the youths concentrate their effort and energy to embrace farming and the agricultural sector rather than waiting for white collar employment,” she pointed out.

The ASK Coast branch chairperson confirmed the exhibitors have hit the target of 150 by close of day of the harvest service.

Anisa said they expect more exhibtors to arrive from the just ended Kitale show and they are on their way to the port city.

She disclosed they are ready to go ahead as planned to open the doors and preparations are through.

“It is all systems go before the five day event kicks off at the famous Mkomani show ground,” she said.

The ASK regional boss insisted they have done what it takes to ensure the resumption of the event is successful.

“Let’s engage in tree planting for forest conservation to ensure there is rainfall,” she added.
