Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) and the Nairobi public health administration has embarked on a sensitization exercise to educate Nairobi residents in observing the Corona-19 protocols.

The two partners have also started fumigation exercise to all public service vehicles (PSV) at the Muthurwa market parking stage and other major public hotspots.

The exercise started last week at Nairobi’s Gikomba market where according to the NMS public health officer Samuel Njenga, the reception was very encouraging.

Addressing the media at the Nairobi’s Muthurwa market, Njenga urged Nairobians to observe the Government directive by wearing face masks at all times since the Corona-19 pandemic is real and devastating.

He said NMS in partnership with the government will continue to render support to the needy in a bid to make the exercise a great success in all major Nairobi market places.

“This is a continuous exercise, we are targeting older adults ranging from 50 years and above since they are vulnerable to the pandemic. We came here to give them the required push” Njenga observed.

The NMS official was flanked by Patricia Mwangi- Starehe Sub county public health officer and Julie Adel, Kamukunji sub county public health officer among other Nairobi county officials.

Njenga took the team round the Muthurwa Bus stage where fumigation exercise took place inside and outside parking public vehicles.

“From next week, he added, we shall visit other markets like Kawangware and Wakulima market among others on a similar exercise.
