The Orange Democratic Movement Party Leader Raila Odinga on Friday said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report will not be subject to amendments.

Addressing the media after he hosted a delegation of leaders from the coastal region who expressed their unwavering support for the BBI process, Raila said that a new Kenya was in the offing.

Raila also said that the BBI signature collection drive will be launched next week.

“We want that exercise done as quickly as possible so that the matter is handed to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) IEBC then we can move towards the next phase of a referendum,” Raila hinted.

Raila said that the BBI matter should be concluded by latest April next year (2021).

On the amending of the report, Raila said that the report will not be subject to amendments saying that people had the opportunity to talk about all the issues they wanted to be captured in the report within the past two years but failed to do so.

“This is a democratic society. They are entitled to their views. We go by the view of the majority of our people,” Raila said.
