Embakasi East MP elect Babu, Owino refuted claims there was peace in the country and instead said there was calmness.

He said the presidential results announced in favour of Deputy President William Ruto at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi after the general election did not reflect the wishes of the country’s electorate.

“Ruto was selected by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chair Wafula Chebukati while Azimio coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate who is Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua were elected by the people,” he pointed out.

Babau said the verdict on the battle over the bungled election will be in favour of Raila.

He was addressing Azimio supporters outside IEBC tally centre at the Kenya School of Government in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county where results for the Mombasa race were announced.

Nairobi woman representative elect Esther Passaris explains a point to former Kitui governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu while waiting for the announcement of the winner of the Mombasa gubernatorial race by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at the Kenya School of Government in Mvita  constituency, Mombasa county.

On his part, outgoing Suba South lawmaker John Mbadi told the impromptu press conference that out of the elections which were earlier postponed Azimio has won five parliamentary seats.

He reiterated the suitable person to be referred to as President elect is Raila and not Ruto.

“From the results of the just concluded elections which had earlier been postponed it is clear that Raila won the presidential election but was rigged out in favor of the loser,” he insisted.

Fomer Kitui governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu lauded the county electorate for ensuring Azimio retained the governor seat for the third time running.

She blasted the IEBC for having a hidden agenda in postponing the polls with a scheme to favor Ruto in the contested presidential results at the Supreme Court.

“Chebukati and Ruto had an evil scheme against county electorate and that is why he had earlier postponed the exercise,” she pointed out.
