Wajir North MP Ibrahim Saney denies causing chaos at tallying centre

Wajir North Member of Parliament Hon Ibrahim Abdi Saney has dismissed claims by the petitioner that he cause chaos at the tallying Center during the just concluded general election forcing the returning officer not to announce the results.

During the hearing of a petition at the milimani court before high court judge Reuben Nyakundi where his close rival Ibrahim Ahmed Abdsalam is challenging his election, Saney told the trial judge he did not incite his supporters but he instead told the to remain calm even as the tallying was going on.

Saney who successful bounced back to politics after loosing his seat to the petitioner in 2017 general election told the court that he addressed his grievances through the media so that the iebc chair wafula Chebukati would intervene.

Saney a seasoned politician aslo told the court that it was then the returning who told his chief agent that he had won the seat but because of the violence that erupted at the tally center he was advised to pick his certificate at the bomas of Kenya which was seen as a safer place.

“My competitor cause chaos with his supporters when it had just remain only few polling stations,and because of the violence we were all evacuated ” Said Saney.

Saney told the court he did not incite anyone at the tallying center and what he heard was that a mere propaganda.

Ibrahim now want the court to upheld his election and dismiss the petition saying the election was free and fair.

“Dispite some small anomalies in some few polling station, the process was free and fair because I personally visited various polling station and things were very much ok” Said Saney.
