Angel Mbuthia, the winner of Miss President Title has thanked fans in a big way for supporting her. Her message of thankfulness reads

“We did it! Thank you most abundantly friends, for standing with me through this journey. In my wildest dreams, I never imagined I would emerge from the 750 applicants, the 50 shortlisted, the 6 finalists and be the winner of Ms President Season 2.

I am humbled beyond measure and completely speechless. I can never thank you enough, but I owe you a debt of gratitude for using your vote to express your confidence in me. I vow to never let you down.

My sincere congratulations go out to my fellow finalists; Bina, Frida,Milka , Nuru and Pauline. In them I saw strong women and even though this was a competition, their brilliance pushed me to be better.

I echo the words of Ms President Season One, Nereah Amondi Okech, when she says that I am only first among equals. In this Season II academy, I saw shining stars and I’ll be glad to work with them moving forward.

I reserve special mention to my Deputy, the indefatigable and classy Valentine Mugun , in whom I have found a gem of a sister, and whose commitment to our campaign still warms my heart in no small measure. In her, I have found a very able carrier of my core message of ONE KENYA, ONE PEOPLE.

My friend Val, you are unmatched. My gratitude also goes out to fellow contestants this season who endorsed me; Madina Mahat Nancy Okademi Esperance Jean Okoth Aisha Ali and Ruguru Kimani That you put aside your own ambitions to support mine is the stuff of fairytales. May God richly bless.

Allow me to close by commending the show organisers led by Media Focus, Dreamcatchers, KTN Home , UN Women, European Union and the Canadian High Commission. In creating a show that identifies and fronts young women leaders across the country, you have given us a marvellous platform to nurture talent and position ourselves for national leadership. The number of Season One alumni currently holding high offices is testament to this. I hope Season 3 will be even bigger.

In conclusion, I dedicate this win to my friend Steve Chege, who invested so much in seeing it come to fruition, but who passed away tragically just two weeks before the announcement. His spirit must he looking down from heaven in satisfaction. We brought it home, Chege!

To you my voters spread out across the country, thank you once again! I promise to use my voice to push the key agenda I set up in the academy, revolving around climate change, national unity, period poverty and education for all. I shall neither rest nor tire, for the task ahead demands resilience and vigilance.
