All roads that were damaged during the construction of the Nairobi Expressway will be refurbished, Infrastructure Principal Secretary (PS) Prof. Paul Maringa has said.

According to Maringa, who inspected parts of Mombasa road that were ruined during the building of the Expressway, the repairs will be made before President Uhuru Kenyatta officially commissions the toll road to the public.

“It is essential that prior to the operationalization of the Nairobi Expressway, the A8 is restored to safe and good condition for all road users,” Maringa said.

The sentiments by the PS come after Kenyans took to social media last week to criticize the Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA) for leaving sections of some roads unrepaired despite the impending launch of the Nairobi Expressway.
