Kenyans have been called upon to hold leaders accountable. Apostle Dr. Peter Kathalu of Revival & Restoration Deliverance Church-Embakasi Tassia said for a long time leaders have been holidaying in Parliament because they have no one to question their dealings.

“It’s important that the voter should assess leaders based on performance and those who don’t perform should not be given the chance, we need all leaders to be held accountable because they’re in those offices courtesy of the taxes we pay,” he said.

The man of cloth also disclosed that they are fasting and praying for the country for peace and harmony.

The highly respected cleric reiterated the need for peace as a catalyst for development and progress. “Our country is greater than any individual, so I’m calling upon the politicians to observe respect for the rule of law and also to tame their tongues whenever they are campaigning,” the Apostle added.

On those seeking the Presidency, the Apostle observed that this is testament that Kenya has grown democratically and that this is a step in the right direction. “Constitutionally, if it happens that one passes away, there should be a sixty day period. This means all these aspirants require adequate security.”

He called upon the government to provide requisite security to these aspirants who have been cleared by the independent elections and boundaries commission (IEBC).

He also called upon the voters to be decided as we approach the general elections.

He called on the candidates to have their strategies right for the sake of unity of purpose. “Politics is about mastering the desire of the common Mwananchi and emerge with Victory. The slogans of these politicians should be put in practicality and should reflect in the country’s economic model,” the Apostle said.
