CS Tourism makes a stop over at recreational park in Mombasa  County

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Penina Malonza made a stop over at Kibarani feeding centre in Mombasa county over the weekend after landing at Mombasa’s Moi international airport.   

She made an extensive tour of the feeding centre and lauded the great work Mombasa Cement has done courtesy of Chief  Executive Officer cum owner Hasmukh Patel through the company’s Social  Investments [CSI] program and for the beautification work at the famous Makupa Causeway.

“I was raised and brought up just less than two kilometers away from the feeding centre and the area has become different from what it was then,” she pointed out.

While addressing journalists, the CS said she has a better history and background of the area.

Penina told journalists she had previously worked in the county under the then defunct  Mombasa Municipal Council as a children officer within the six sub counties.

She lauded the hard work by the company of taking care of children through a feeding program.

“I thank the company management for partnering with the government on creating employment opportunities,” she pointed out.        

On his part Mombasa Cement volunteer Santoshi Tiwari said the company policy and goal is to ensure no county resident goes to bed without a meal.

He insisted the goal of the facility is to feed helpless, venureable residents within the county.

“Our mission is to ensure nobody sleeps hungry despite the country’s economic challenges,” he pointed out.

The cement company officer told the CS there are almost 150 people working under the feeding program.

Santoshi disclosed approximately 40,000 children are being fed with enough human capacity to make the center into a reality.
