Edward Muriu: From Corridors of Justice to the Murky Waters of Gatanga Politics

Edward Muriu, a humble yet witty sharp-looking gentleman who is eyeing the Gatanga Parliamentary seat is not your ordinary politician. In his private practice, Mr Muriu is the Team Leader and a Founding Partner of MMC Africa Law.

He leads a strong partnership of 12 and a workforce of over 100 staff.

Mr Muriu was handed his nomination certificate yesterday in an auspicious ceremony at the Hustler Center.

In an interview with journalists shortly after receiving the certificate, the Accredited Governance Auditor said, “My Pesa Mfukoni Initiative will continue touching lives and during my tenure I shall undertake such like programs to ensure every Gatanga residents benefits without any bias,”

The focused leader also plans to take a bill to Parliament to lobby for Gatanga residents to benefit from the water of Ndakaini dam so that they can use the water to better their lives.

“I’ll make sure that through a bill that I will present in Parliament, my people will have the opportunity to utilise Ndakaini water which at the moment flows 100 kilometres being carted away to Nairobi leaving Gatanga thirsty,” the highly sought lawyer added.

Some of his other notable projects which he has already rolled out in Gatanga include: supporting over 3000 Secondary students with Wakili Edward Muriu, Pesa Mfukoni Bursary Fund, worth over Kenya shillings seven Million Shillings.

He has also supported all the 9 Dairy Cooperatives in Gatanga with over 10,000 Members with Quality Semen and Semen Tanks to Improve Milk Production Worth 5 Million Shillings.

During the Covid 19 pandemic, he helped the Community with Food Donations to over 50,000 People and donated Masks and Sanitizers to all the Primary School, with 40,000 pupils Worth over 3.5 Million shillings.

He has also empowered over, 3000 Youth with Uniform and Balls from 200 Sports Clubs from Gatanga Constituency.

Mr Edward recently added a feather in his hat for being the only Kenyan selected as a finalist in last year’s African Legal Awards in the Partner of the Year category.
