Former Nairobi County official Dr. Ayisi dies from Covid-19 complications.

Former Nairobi County Secretary Dr. Robert Ayisi is dead.
His family confirmed on Thursday that Ayisi succumbed to COVID-19 complications.
Dr. Ayisi was admitted to the Mater Hospital in Nairobi for treatment.
The deceased served as Nairobi County Secretary during former Governor Evans Kidero’s tenure at City Hall.
Prior to his January 2016 appointment by the then Governor Kidero, Dr. Ayisi served as Nairobi City Council’s Medical Health officer from 2009-2014 before being appointed Health Chief Officer in July 2014.
On Monday, Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko caused a storm when he posted the demise of Ayisi, a statement that was dismissed by Ayisi’s family as he was still alive at the time Sonko was putting up the post, which he later pulled down and apologized to the family.
