Gusii Community KANU supporters in Nairobi want Sifuna to step down for Ochoti

Asection of Gusii Community KANU supporters residing in Nairobi are appealing to Azimio One Kenya Alliance Presidential aspirant Raila Odinga who doubles up as ODM Party Leader to ask his Senatorial aspirant in Nairobi Edwin Sakaja to step down for KANU’s Engineer John Ochoti.

Addressing the media from a Nairobi Hotel on Thursday, the leaders led by Evans Ongwae and the caucus’s Secretary Joash Mirera say that the Kisii Community residing in Nairobi has been sidelined politically and that it was time Azimio let KANU’s Ochoti to represent the community in the city.

‘We had leaders like Simba Arati of Dagorreti North and others but they have since left. We are now political orphans in the city and that is why as leader of Omogusii in Nairobi sat and saw it fit to front Ochoti to represent us politically,’ Ongwae said.

They also appealed to KANU chair Gideon Moi to seize the opportunity and ask his Azimio counterparts to take the matter seriously and ensure Ochoti gets the Nairobi senatorial seat.

‘We saw Raila ask Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu to step down for former Governor Malombe and that was done. We ask that he does the same in Nairobi,’ Mirera offered.

They however maintained that the Gusii Community in Nairobi is behind the Azimio political wing and that they will vote to a man to ensure Raila wins the presidency come August 9th when the country goes to the general el;ections.
