Kenyan Elections Quite Peaceful, Says East African Standby Force

The East African Standby Force has observed that the Kenya 2022 general election has been peaceful and very orderly.

Adressing the media at a Nairobi hotel, they said that the voter turnout in the three Nairobi polling stations their observers were situated and that all was calm and easy and that Kenyans were very patient.

The Nairobi pulling stations were Nyayo Stadium where voting begun at 6:30 am, Langata West Primary School where the polling stations were opened at exactly 6.05 am and at Kabirwa polling station.

The other counties where the observer mission has its agents are Uasin Ngishu, Isiolo, Mombasa, Kajiado, Nakuru, Nyeri, Kisumu and Garissa with each team consisting of two overseers who will each visit at least 15 polling stations.

The head of mission observed that the voter turnout is higher than the last elections and that the lack of gubernatorial elections in Kakamega and Mombasa county did not affect the turnout and won’t affect the results of of the other posts.

“There is very high presence of women, even female police officers. There is also good consideration for persons with disability. There is no negative feedback from us.” Noted Mr. Morell the head of mission.
