Kenya’s Covid 19 positive cases on the rise again

The Ministry of Health has announced that Kenya’s Covid 19 cases have started to rise exponentially days after President Uhuru Kenyatta relaxed several containment measures aimed at curbing the global pandemic.

While giving the Ministry’s daily briefing on the matter today, the Ministry’s Chief Administrative Secretary, CAS, Rashid Aman announced that in the last 24 hours, 442 people have turned positive from 5327 samples. 

The total of coronavirus cases in the country is 40,620. 

In the update, for the for the first time Nakuru County leads with 94 cases. 

Other counties with new cases include; Nairobi with 80 cases, Mombasa 47, Embu 20, Kisumu 20, Meru 15, Garissa 12, Kajiado 11, Kericho 10, Kwale 2 and Bungoma 1.

So far, 166 people have recovered; 140 from home based care and 26 from hospitals making it a total of 30876 recoveries in the country. Sadly, 4 more patients have succumbed to the virus.

Aman said age-wise, the youngest is a three-year-old infant while the oldest is 86 years old.
