Gor Mahia Football Club is facing an uphill task when the team plays against stubborn Bandari Football Club during the weekend.

The crucial Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League fixture is to be played the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa county.

The defending champs are on a mission to collet three points to extend their league standing to 12 points before the hosts close the sports facility for renovation.

The match is to be played amid protests from Gor’s branch officials over the hike of ticket charges from the normal Sh 100 to Sh 500 per person.

According to Bandari Football Club vice chairman Twaha Mbarak the weekend fixture is high profile and is expected to attract a capacity of 5,0000 fans and cuts across the soccer fraternity from both clubs and not the green army fans only.

He appealed to club supporters to turn out in large numbers to cheer the home team to victory.

Gor mauled Posta Rangers 4-0 during their last weekend match.

The club branch organizing secretary Nelson Ombogo opposed the raise in ticket charges to Sh 500 pointing out it may deny their fans entry to cheer the club during weekend league.

Mbarak confirmed their club will shift temporarily to the Kwale show ground stadium when their sports facility undergoes renovation after hosting the league defending champs.
