Land grabbers in Mombasa County Put on Notice

The Mombasa county government has put on notice those who have acquired land through fraudulent means.

Newly appointed County Executive Committee Member in charge of Lands  Mohammed Hussein Mohammed alias Hamado warned those who use fraud in acquiring land in the county.

He added that his department will take measures to ensure the menace is weeded out during governor Abdulswamad Nassir’s administration. 

“My department is taking measures to ensure accountability and transparency in the dispensation of services to the county electorate,” he added.

Hamado has urged land owners to take advantage of the e- services portal to keep up to date on their dues.

He was speaking during his maiden press conference held at Elimu Mazingira House in Mombasa county.

The newly appointed County Executive Committee member told the media that in the near future the county government will work in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands with the aim of providing digital land services.

Hamado defended the county government’s move saying it will enhance and streamline land transactions for property owners in Mombasa.

He disclosed the county government through his department is in the process of updating the land valuation roll and is awaiting the outcome of the valuation court.

“The valuation roll is a record of data relating to all parcels of land in Mombasa maintained primarily to support the land rate system,” he stated.

The County Executive Committee member said  he is on the right track with his vision to transform Mombasa to the next level than what he had found it.
