Lobby Defends Nairobi speaker Ng’ondi over Nepotism

Section of civil society group have defended Nairobi City County Assembly Speaker Ken Ng’ondi over allegations of unprocederal recruitment of staffs in the assembly.

Addressing the media the group termed suit by Concerned Citizen Alliance political and should be dismissed by courts.

“We are aware that some of civil society group went to court accusing speaker of Nepotism in staffing and the rest we want to state categorically that this is malice and political witch hunt,we have various agencies like Public Service Commission who have never raise any matter of the sort ..it is blackmail and political witch-hunt.” Lawrence Oyugi of Public Interest Group said.

The speaker has been accused of orchestrating employment of MCAs relatives.

The group also says that are also considering enjoining case against the speaker .

“We strongly feel that justice must be served and that the speaker is innocent until proven guilty. We will continue to defend him against any false allegations and malicious attacks,” Oyugi added.
