Just days after the death of a Dr. Stephen Mogusu at the prime age of 28 who breathed his last at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital (KUTRH) on Monday evening throwing the nation into anger and shock following his tragic death from the dreaded Covid-19, another nurse collapsed and died yesterday at his home in Kakamega County.

Mr. Wycliffe Alumasa is said to could have collapsed and died at his home in Shikangania village, Lurambi Constituency, after ailing for just a week.

Alumasa worked with the Kakamega County General Hospital and the ongoing nationwide health workers strike might have accelerated his demise.

It is reported that Alumasa had difficulty in breathing before he died. 

A nurse at the Kakamega County General Hospital died on Tuesday, becoming the latest casualty of the ongoing nationwide strike by health workers agitating for better working conditions.

His wife, Veronica Alumasa, is also sick. 

County health executive Collins Matemba says samples had been obtained from the nurse for testing.
