Song and dance ushers in Hon. Keynan 5th time victory in Eldas

Business came to a standstill in the busy Eldas town and the surrounding areas after Hon. Adan Keynan was re-elected for the fifth time.

It was a carnivore atmosphere never seen in recent times as local residents went to the streets to celebrate the win of a man who has been instrumental in shaping their destiny.

Hon. Adan Keynan retained his plum seat for a fifth time owing to his outstanding services.

Cheerful Aldai residents thanked Allah for the victory which they described as a great gift to Cherich.

Keynan victory will go to the annals of history as one of the long serving Legislator who has served with dedication and absolute distinction.

The exercise that was marred with chaos was followed later with a rare carnivore mood in the towns of Griftu, Elnur new sub-county, and Matho village, Lakoley.

Hon. Keynan and his fellow Azimio opponent Arale Ahmed Boray and UDA’s Salat Omar Haji were involved in a fierce battle that forced IEBC to postpone the election exercise to August 10.

Provisional results from IEBC showed Keynan garnered 7,517 votes compared to Borays 6,838 while UDA’s Salat managed a paltry 66 votes.

There were more cheers and jubilation in the town of Balatul Amin immediately after the results began to filter in through social media before being made public.

According to Mzee Jimale Birrow, he acknowledged Keynan as a reputable leader with an outstanding record of leadership. Similar sentiments were further expressed by Ugaas Daud Baryare of the Idiris community, who noted that it’s now time for all communities to come together and work for the benefit of the community. 

Jubilant residents told our writer that Keynan’s victory was a great win for those who believe in justice, and the rule of law. 

“Indeed, We are grateful by Keynan’s victory. He has helped us by initiating many projects and helping the poor through bursaries.We thank Allah for retaining our legislator to continue with the projects he began many years ago,” Observed Ibrahim Mohamed, an influential elder. Keynan who also serves as Jubilee Joint Secretary and Azimio la Moja, First Vice Chairman of the Azimio National Executive Committee, thanked the Eldas electorate for giving him another term to serve them.

He promised to serve them equally while extending his committed service to the few who did not vote for him.
