Jomvu legislator Badi Twalib was re-elected for the third time during the just concluded general election and was announced winner at the IEBC constituency tallying centre at Mikindani Primary School in Mombasa county.

Badi trounced his closet rivals after he garnered 13,850 votes with Renson Thoya of Jubilee party garnering 9,407 votes and Kariza Nzai of UDA garnering 5,439 votes.

In his acceptance speech he extended an olive branch to his competitors and urged them to work with him after he was re-elected.

“Time for political campaigns is over and therefore let us focus ahead. Let us bury our political hatchets and focus on the development of the constituency,” he pointed out.

The legislator told the constituents that times are hard but there is a brighter future with the renewal of his contract.

Badi urged them to put aside their campaign rivalries and consider the interests of the constituency and not personal interests.

He applaud the constituents for having confidence in him by re-electing him to serve them in the 13th parliament.

“I am ready to bury the political hatchet for the sake of unity and prosperity and development and tranquility in the constituency,” he pointed out.
