Operations at Devolution Ministry Suspended

The Ministry of Devolution has asked all its staff to go on self isolation for two weeks after several staff from the ministry tested positive for Covid-19.

In an internal memo to staff, the ministry’s Principal Secretary Charles Sunkuli says 18 staff members tested positive from the virus out of 128 samples tested.

“Following the mass testing for COVID-19 that was done on July 23, 2020, it has come to our attention that 18 officers tested positive for the disease out of 128 samples. The purpose of this memo is to request you to inform all officers working in your departments to isolate themselves for the next two weeks from 3rd to 16th August, 2020.” Sunkuli says in the memo.

Sunkuli also advices that the officers that tested positive will report back to work come August 17 and will be subjected to another round of testing.

He further thanks all that undertook the test adding that following the delayed receiving of the results, all staff will be subjected to testing upon reporting back to work.
