The fate of embattled Football Kenya Federation [FKF] President Nick Mwendwa hangs in a limbo ahead of the much-awaited annual general meeting [AGM] this Saturday in the capital city of Nairobi.

The meeting to outline a road map to the federation’s elections before the end of the year is likely to be influenced to scrap the two term tenure in office for Mwendwa to continue handling football administration and targets the hosting of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] to be the 36th edition of the biennial African football tournament.

Mwendwa’s critics have been mounting pressure for him to give way for new blood after serving his two terms in office in line with the constitution.

The government has declined to comment on the fiasco with the incumbent shadow boxing with his opponents ahead of the AGM.

FKF presidential aspirant Tom Alila said they are prepared to deal with manipulation of the football constitution by delegates at the meeting.

He pointed out there should be no cause for alarm for the electorate attending the meeting.

“We are fully aware of the move to flash cards under the table to delegates for endorsement,” he said.

Meanwhile, Muranga seal football vice chairman Hussein Mohamed will be the man to watch during the AGM as the drama unfolds on whether he will be allowed to attend the AGM.
